Online Business with NCEA
Q: Should I be concerned with the security of my membership information?
A: Since the NCEA Web site is a benefit of membership, some areas of the Web site are in secured areas that will require you to login. You do not need to login until you wish to enter a secured area; at that point you will be prompted to enter your Login ID and Password. Your login ID is your Member Number that is printed on your membership card (examples of the two types of member cards are shown below). Your initial password is your zip code plus your state's postal abbreviation, for example, 22201VA. If you forget your Login ID or Password, just click on the E-mail My Password link on the Login screen and your Login ID and Password will be sent to that e-mail address.

Q: Can I shop in the Online Store and not use a credit card or request an invoice?
A: In response to many requests by members NCEA has added this new feature to its Online Store. Now members may submit their orders by mail or fax or request an invoice while shopping as usual in the Online Store. This feature is reserved for active NCEA members only and standard NCEA publications catalog shipping charges apply because of to the higher order processing costs associated with invoiced orders.
Here's how:
When checking-out, the new button will appear on the checkout basket page. If you wish to complete your order and submit it by mail or fax, and request to be invoiced, just click the Pay by Mail, Pay by FAX, Request Invoice button found on the basket check-out page. Your order will be re-totaled to adjust for the Standard Catalog Shipping Charge (higher than the $6.00 rate added for Pre-Paid (credit card) Online Store orders. Then just press the "Click Here for Printable Form" button. Print the form and submit it to NCEA for processing in the usual manner.
Q: What is NCEA's Return Policy?
A: Our Return policy can be found here.
Q: May I update my membership information?
A: NCEA encourages you to update your membership information. NCEA's Web site is a Network Solutions Secure Site so you may safely and securely review and update your membership information. Any changes made to the membership information will be reflected in the NCEA membership database and you should ensure accuracy of your entry before submitting the information.
Q: Who can update membership information?
A: The answer depends on what type of information requires update.
Individual Members: individual members, members of CACE, NPCD, Religious Education and the individual members within any NCEA department will be able to update membership information by using their Member Number and their password. We strongly recommend that you immediately change your password.
Institutional Members: if you are the Chief Administrator of a member institution then you were issued a separate card with your Member Number on it. That Member Number will allow you to make membership updates to your own membership information, as well as, your institution's membership information. Your staff was issued associate member cards. These cards will allow your staff to receive the special member rates on publications, but will not allow them to update membership information. We strongly recommend that you keep your member number confidential because anyone with your member number can update your member record. When performing a record update, you are changing the record at NCEA and the change is permanent. Release your member number only to those that you trust completely. We also recommend that you immediately change your password.
Associate Members: if you are an associate member because your institution, board, commission or council is a member, then only the chief administrator of the institution or chairperson will be able to update membership information. Chief administrators and chairpersons are issued separate cards with a different Member Number that will allow them to make the updates. Associate members will be able to view membership information and receive special member rates on Online Store purchases, but will not be able to make membership updates with the institution's Member Number.

Q: What is the Network Solutions logo that appears on the secure server login page?
A: Network Solutions is a company that 'certifies' that web sites are who they purport to be. The more criminally talented element can make a web site appear to be what it is not? You have probably read of crooks setting up a fake ATM machine in a shopping mall for the sole purpose of obtaining your credit card information. Web site spoofing operates the same way. A good thief could set up a web site that appears to be an NCEA web site and solicit personal and financial information from you for the purpose of raiding your accounts. By clicking the Network Solutions logo, you will receive an authentication message that contains, among others items, the following:
That is your assurance that you are connected with the genuine NCEA site and not an imitator's.
Q: Suppose I have a question that this page does not answer?
A: Not a problem, call us at (800) 711-6232 and ask the receptionist to connect you with a Membership Service Representative in the Member Service Center. We are open between 9 AM - 5 PM ET, Monday through Friday.
