Registration and Housing
Registration will open in spring of 2018. Also, stay tuned for further information on housing!
ICSL 2018 attracts Catholic school principals, assistant principals, presidents and pastors from around the country.
ICSL 2018 will ultimately have 30 breakout sessions on topics such as promoting missions and Catholic identity, personal growth mindset, marketing strategies, enrollment management, successful sustainability and more. Proposals should be created with the target audience in mind and a clearly defined content focus area.
Eligibility for Submission
Potential speakers must be current or former leaders in Catholic education (e.g. President, Principal, Superintendent, Consultant, etc.), or affiliates. Preference will be given to current NCEA members.
Anyone who meets the eligibility requirements and submits a proposal is potentially eligible to present at ICSL 2018. Successful proposals discuss pressing and current issues in Catholic education. These presentations can be information, research-based, share best practices and/or provide resources.
Format options for ICSL 2018 include breakout sessions, roundtable and panel discussions.
Breakout Sessions are mostly lecture format with a brief discussion following.
Roundtable discussions are slightly more informal than other sessions. They are usually limited to short, general commentaries that will stimulate exchange between the audience and the moderators. Issues and ideas related to the field of Catholic school leadership will be broadly stated. Feedback and discourse is expected from those attending the session. It is a medium to introduce ideas, explore thoughts and search for answers to problems.
Panel discussions are designed to explain or involve various speakers from different institutions looking at the same topic from various angles. They do not include several speakers from one institution speaking on the same topic. If that is the format of your presentation, it will not be considered a panel and should be proposed as a breakout session.
All sessions will be either 60 or 90 minutes in length. Although NCEA will make every effort to honor your requested format option, NCEA may recommend an alternate format in order to accept as many proposals as possible. In that instance, speakers will be notified via e-mail.
Notifications of proposal status will be sent to all submitters in early January 2018.
