NCEA’s Marketing Communications Team Honored with National Awards for Rebranding Efforts and Social Media
2016 awards bring national attention to NCEA
Arlington, VA — The National Catholic Educational Association’s (NCEA) Marketing Communications team has been honored with four national marketing communication awards for innovative and creative excellence with the association’s recent rebranding efforts.
“I am grateful for the creative talents of our in-house marketing communications team,” said NCEA President/CEO Thomas Burnford. “It’s rewarding to know that the work we do to proclaim the good news of Catholic education also is recognized by industry experts as superior in its implementation.”
The team has been honored by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals with the MarCom Awards — an international creative competition. These awards recognize outstanding achievement by marketing and communications professionals. Entries come from corporate marketing and communications departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. NCEA has received the following awards:

Award Category – Design / Logo
*Honorable Mention: NCEA’s New Logo Design
Award Category – Marketing / Promo Campaign / Branding Refresh
*Honorable Mention: NCEA’s Marketing Communications Rebranding Campaign
Judges for this award are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talents exceed a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. There were more than 6,500 entries. About 17 percent of the entries received the platinum award, 24 percent received gold, and 10 percent were honorable mentions.
In addition to the MarCom Awards, NCEA’S new website was selected to receive the Great Things Award – iMIS Website. Each year at the annual iMIS users’ conference, outstanding client websites powered by the iMIS RiSE web development platform are acknowledged. Winners are selected based on excellence in areas such as design, navigation, functionality and more. iMIS is rated the number one member and donor engagement management system (EMS)™ in the world.
This past September, NCEA also entered the “Send a Teacher to NCEA 2016” in the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) “Art of the Show Contest.” The Art of the Show Contest awards excellence in the development of promotional and marketing materials for exhibitions and events in 15 categories and three show sizes. A first-place winner and an honorable mention is selected for each category. NCEA was selected to receive the “Honorable Mention in the Social Media Campaign.”
Over the last year, the team has been honored with eight national awards recognizing the team’s rebranding efforts, including the redesign of NCEA’s magazine Momentum, the new website, social media efforts, and the new logo.
