St. Rita Advisory Council
Dallas, Texas

St. Rita’s School, serving students from kindergarten through grade 9, maintains an advisory council of nine elected and four ex-officio members. Its success is largely a product of sound training and strong committees focused on plant operations, endowment, development, technology, athletics, policy, admissions, and elections. The council’s work begins each summer by establishing goals and concludes with a thorough self-evaluation at the end of the school year.

Along the way, the advisory council oversees an endowment and works closely with the parish finance committee to prepare the budget, recommend adjustments, and set fund-raising goals.
The St. Rita Advisory Council has established an exemplary program of member training, with a manual currently in the works. And its practice of using the first 15 minutes of every meeting as an open question and answer session is a model of effective communication and accountability.
Among its more recent accomplishments, the council has established a Dads’ Club to promote new projects, raise funds, and build community.

In short, the St. Rita Advisory Council’s star shines big and bright, deep in the heart of Texas.
