2005 Outstanding Board Award
St. Jude's Regional School Board

This 19-member advisory board for a regional K-8 school (serving 4 parishes) has been in existence for 30 years. It includes 3 representatives of each parish. Members show outstanding commitment to the mission; involvement in crucial areas of school budget, mission, planning and marketing; preparation and communication for meetings; strong committees; and working together as a team to promote the future success and financial stability of the school.
Recent major accomplishments have been a series of marketing activities to stop the decline in enrollment just as it was beginning, increase parental support and participation, and the funding and implementation of a new technology program. Now the board is focusing on ongoing development for teachers to use the computers and apply them across the curriculum.
