The 2010 NPCD Convocation in
Minneapolis will highlight a Catechetical Leadership Day with Msgr. John Kozar of the Pontifical Mission Societies; professional development sessions related to cultural literacy, technology and parental involvement; a religion publishers’ showcase presenting the very latest in texts and services; a workshop on Berard Marthaler’s book, “The Nature, Tasks and Scope of Catechesis,” by Ken Ogorek of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis; Taizé prayer with David Anderson; and a closing concert entitled “SINGING THE STORY AND MISSION OF CHRIST,” a musical celebration with David Haas, Lori True, Michael Joncas, and Donna Pena.

The 2010 NPCD Convocation will also offer an Issues Forum facilitated by Dr. Carole Eipers of William H. Sadlier Inc. on the topic of the relationship between parish and school and how to integrate both so that the entire religious education effort is not at odds with itself but works for the greater goal of evangelization and catechesis. NPCD has posted a Wiki site with a link to “DRE Talk” for those catechists who are new to the ministry and would like to meet others with similar questions, concerns and ideas.
