Defining “The Future” and Responding to its Challenges


The address will locate Catholic Education in the broader context of the Church in the United States today.  Major studies, including the Pew Foundation reports on the American religious landscape and the book American Grace, have offered an account which invites and challenges American Catholicism.  The secular character of American society adds its own specific challenge to the Church and those who prepare its future in the work of Catholic education.
