OUR HOSTS

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is our pleasure to invite you to join the Arch/dioceses in New England, in Boston for the 2012 National Catholic Education Association Convention.  This annual event is truly a time to reflect on the 2005 document written by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops declaring:  “Our vision is clear:  our Catholic schools are a vital part of the teaching mission of the Church.  The challenges ahead are many but our spirit and will to succeed are strong,”

Catholic schools of the 21st century rely on our ability to build and strengthen relationships amongst us, the educators, catechists, pastors, librarians and Board members.  On behalf of Sean Cardinal O’Malley of Boston and Archbishop Henry Mansell of Hartford, and all the bishops of New England, it is our honor to extend a warm welcome to you.

New England CACE has the distinction of collaborating with the city of Boston in preparing for this conference.  From Connecticut to Maine, our dioceses encompass over 1,324   parishes and  332 schools to serve a population of over fourteen million people.  Together, our schools demonstrate a strong spiritual life, excellence in academics, up to date equipment, state of the art technology and library resources.  Our Catholic schools exhibit the traditions of the Church, charisma of their founding religious congregations, and sense of community that sets Catholic schools apart from any other schools.

All eleven dioceses welcome you to Boston, which is rich with diversity and history.  It houses a wealth of museums, history at every corner, and some of the finest and most active theater, dinner and fine arts districts in the country.  Follow the Freedom Trail, visit Faneuil Hall.  These are some of the highlights of your trip to Boston.  The eleven dioceses of New England are excited to share our story of Catholic education with you and to host the 2012 NCEA Convention that will once again highlight leadership, direction and service.

Please join us in the historically rich city of Boston the 11th–13th of April 2012.

Sincerely,
