NAEP 2000 Grade 4 Reading Report Card Results

On April 2, 2001, The National Center for Education Statistics released the report of the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) results in 4th grade reading.

National results are reported in two ways:

  1. Average scale scores on a scale that ranges from 0 to 300
  2. Percentage of students performing at or above four achievement levels:
    1. below basic (not defined, but less than partial mastery)
    2. basic (partial mastery of fundamental skills and knowledge)
    3. proficient (solid academic performance)
    4. advanced (superior performance).
