NAEP 2000 Grade 4 Reading Report Card Results

On April 2, 2001, The National Center for Education Statistics released the report of the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) results in 4^th grade reading.

National results are reported in two ways:

Average scale scores on a scale that ranges from 0 to 300
Percentage of students performing at or above four achievement levels:
1. below basic (not defined, but less than partial mastery)
2. basic (partial mastery of fundamental skills and knowledge)
3. proficient (solid academic performance)
4. advanced (superior performance).
