Convention 2007

The National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) opened its 104th annual convention and exposition Tuesday, April 10, at the Baltimore Convention Center. NCEA is meeting in Baltimore for only the third time in the association’s 104-year history. Previous conventions were held in the city in 1916 and 2000. The are scenes from the opening day and the beginning of the second.

Most Rev. Pietro Sambi, papal nuncio to the United States, told opening session attendees that Catholic teachers “are the greatest artists in the world,” because you “sculpt the best of what you are, not in a piece of marble but in human beings who are the glory of God.

Cardinal William Keeler of Baltimore brought greetings from the host diocese.
