Father Michael Himes to Speak at NCEA Convention

Noted Theologian Will Give Keynote Address on Tuesday, April 26

Father Michael HimesArlington, Va. - Father Michael Himes, professor of moral theology at Boston College, will be a keynote speaker at the annual convention of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA). He will speak Tuesday morning, April 26, during the opening session.
 
Father Himes is a priest of the diocese of Brooklyn and is a widely known and respected speaker on such topics as Christian theology, sacramental principles and ethics.
 
Before going to Boston College, he served as professor and academic dean of the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception, Hungtington, New York, and as assistant professor of theology at the University of Notre Dame.
 
He earned his Master of Divinity Degree from the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception and his doctorate in the history of Christianity from the University of Chicago. He has been awarded honorary doctorates from several Catholic colleges.
 
 
Father Himes is a contriubtor to many scholarly journals and the author of several books, including Fulness of Faith: The Public Significance of Theology, written with his brother, Franciscan Father Kenneth Himes.
 
The NCEA, founded in 1904, is a professional membership organization that provides leadership, direction and service to fulfill the evangelizing, catechizing and teaching mission of the church. NCEA members include elementary schools, high schools, parish religious education programs and seminaries.
