Catechetical Scholars Program
Since 1995, the Department of Religious Education has offered forty-eight veteran diocesan and parish catechetical leaders a place in the Catechetical Scholars Program. Field practitioners are given time away from full-time jobs in ministry to research a topic of concern that furthers catechetical ministry. Selection is based on the following criteria: at least five years experience as a diocesan or parish catechetical leader, submission of a written proposal for a research project, commitment to a two-year process, and a letter of recommendation from their Bishop or Pastor. [More information] Contact the Department of Religious Education (reled@ncea.org) if you are interested in the next gathering of Catechetical Scholars.

Catholic School Leadership Institute
The Catholic School Leadership Institute is a three-day workshop covering various aspects of administration. In order to meet the needs of beginning principals and to support and encourage experienced principals, the NCEA has developed a summer workshop which will provide ongoing formation and support and at the same time reinvigorate those who already face the daily challenges of administration. Those teachers who are considering the ministry of administration will find the program a valuable opportunity to share their ideas and learn from experienced administrators.  [More information]

Board chairpersons, officers, committee chairs, administrators, superintendents, pastors, and others who work with boards will benefit. Each webinar course lasts 3 weeks. Work online any time you want during the course. All readings and materials are provided online.
