Strategic Planning Services for Dioceses
A service of the National Catholic Educational Association
"A vision without a plan is just a pipe dream…
A plan without a vision is just busy work (but)
A vision with a plan can change the world!"
Joel Barker
Recent enrollment declines (especially at the elementary school level), shifting demographics and growing concerns about financing Catholic schools and keeping them affordable and accessible are among the challenges facing Catholic educators around the country.
It is difficult to imagine how any diocese can tackle the challenges it must address - whether they involve staffing parish ministries, enrollment concerns, strengthening Catholic identity, finances, compensation, development or marketing needs - without a strategic plan. In the end, though, the goal is not simply the development of a document that finds an honored place on a shelf. A more important outcome is the creation of mechanisms for planning and accountability that enable you to proactively carve out your future and respond appropriately to the inevitable changes that will come your way.
If strategic planning is on the horizon for your arch/diocese, NCEA is now offering field services and we will be happy to discuss your needs and answer your questions about these services.
