Focus and Breakout Sessions

The focus and breakout sessions for CLS 2020 are a great way to approach the four NSBECS domains, whether you're a school leader, a system leader or in higher-ed. John Reyes' video provides more about what's new for this year's CLS.

Diocesan Leaders Professional Learning Groups (PLG)

As a new diocesan leader, building a network of support around the country is key to your success. By participating in NCEA's New Diocesan Leaders PLG, you will learn key aspects of your new role in the context of collaboration and problem solving with colleagues from around the country. Each session will present content relevant to your new role (diocesan culture, working with your bishop, building support from principals) and provide an opportunity for you to share your successes and challenges with a cohort of colleagues. All meetings will be via Zoom so you can build a national network while staying in your own diocese. Watch Kevin Baxter's video to hear some key points about the PLGs.

Keynote Speakers

NCEA is so excited to have four great keynote speakers to inspire and set the tone for each day of CLS. Our keynote speakers are respected thought and practice leaders in each of the four domains of the NSBECS.

  • Governance and Leadership: Howard Fuller - Author, Speaker, Civil Rights Activist
  • Operational Vitality: Betsy Bohlen - Chief Operating Officer, Archdiocese of Chicago
  • Academic Excellence: Marie Lynn Miranda - Provost, University of Notre Dame
  • Mission and Catholic Identity: Wilton Gregory - Archbishop, Archdiocese of Washington

Watch Kathy Mears' video for a brief description of the dynamic keynote speakers and prayer leaders we have been blessed with for CLS 2020!
