Catholic Schools Once Again Are Among the Communities Bracing for Hurricane Irma
NCEA offers prayers for Catholic schools and all communities along the track of Hurricane Irma and for those areas already affected.
Arlington, VA — The National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) joins the nation and the world in prayer as another hurricane/tropical storm cuts a path along the Caribbean, Puerto Rico and the U. S. Atlantic coastline.
In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, communities again are preparing for another exceptional storm over the weekend. Relief efforts are underway in Texas and Louisiana following Hurricane Harvey. Now Puerto Rico, Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas are among those areas preparing for Hurricane Irma, following the devastation leveled by the storm in the Caribbean.
Pope Francis, deeply moved by the loss of life and the overwhelming material devastation, offered special prayers for "victims and their families, and for all those engaged in the vital work of relief, recovery and rebuilding."
Rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) is a professional membership organization that assists its members to fulfill their teaching mission of the Church and to lead, learn and proclaim the good news of Catholic school education.
