NCEA Announces Appointment of Assistant Director of Professional Development

Educational Resource Manager Andrea Kopp is named to new position.

Arlington, VA — The National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) has announced that Andrea Kopp has been promoted to Assistant Director of Professional Development.

Andrea, formerly the educational resource manager, has been contributing to NCEA in that capacity since 2015. Andrea has extensive experience in the classroom and in ministry and holds a bachelor’s degree in history and secondary education from St. Leo University and is also completing a Master’s in Education for Instructional Leadership.

“Andrea’s work on our Professional Development Team has been exemplary, and she continually goes over and above in her roles here at NCEA,” says Tom Burnford, president/CEO of NCEA. “We look forward to her continuing to oversee many of NCEA’s essential programs.”

The Professional Development Team increases access to opportunities for the spiritual and professional growth of NCEA members. In addition to workshops and conferences geared toward specific topics such as blended learning, exceptional learners and STREAM, to name a few, the Professional Development Team also is responsible for ongoing member/teacher collaboration, curation of resources and digital and on-site training.

Andrea oversees the development and execution of the NCEA Webinar program, online resource library and serves as a liaison with national initiatives, such as the Strong Catholic Family National Partnership and the Bearing Witness Program.
