
The NCEA NSBECS Council (NNC) is charged with ensuring the advancement, ongoing development, and implementation of the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools (NSBECS) to promote a secure and strong future for Catholic elementary and secondary schools.

The NNC will serve as an advisory body to the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA), reporting to the NCEA Chief Leadership and Program Officer (or person appointed by such), to advance NSBECS by sustaining core knowledge and providing leadership for advocacy, communication, development of resources, and promotion of research.
The NNC is established in collaboration with the NSBECS primary authors, Lorraine Ozar, Ph.D. and Patricia Weitzel-O'Neill, Ph.D., who will both serve two-year terms as members of the NNC.

NNC ensures that those responsible for Catholic schools make informed use of the NSBECS as a credible foundation and privileged framework for measuring and improving Catholic school identity, excellence and performance.
