NAEP 2000 Mathematics Result
On August 2, 2001, The National Center for Education Statistics released the report of the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) mathematics results in grades 4, 8 and 12.
National results are reported in two ways:
- Average scale scores on a scale that ranges from 0 to 300
- Percentage of students performing at or above four achievement levels:
- below basic (not defined, but less than partial mastery)
- basic (partial mastery of fundamental skills and knowledge)
- proficient (solid academic performance)
- advanced (superior performance)
