NAEP 2001 History Report Card
On May 9, 2002, The National Center for Education Statistics released the report of the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) results for the Nation's Rep[rot Card for U.S. History in grades 4, 8 and 12.
National results are reported in two ways:
- Average scale scores on a scale that ranges from 0 to 500
- Percentage of students performing at or above four achievement levels:
- below basic (not defined, but less than partial mastery)
- basic (partial mastery of fundamental skills and knowledge)
- proficient (solid academic performance)
- advanced (superior performance).
